Ensuring students are college- and career-ready are the key aims of Don Bosco Cristo Rey. This high school's innovative Corporate Work Study Program partners with over a hundred companies to give students from low-income communities valuable on-the-job experience while earning nearly 60% of their tuition cost. Once a week, students take on the responsibility of a professional, entry-level job, with four-person "job sharing" teams covering one full-time position. Additional intensive summer programs ensure that team members are ready to balance office work and homework – learning small skills like shaking hands while maintaining eye contact and large ones like time management. Over 98% of student workers received good or outstanding assessments from their employers and 100% of graduates have been accepted to college since 2012. Your support ensures these students continue to be uniquely prepared both for college and for the work world beyond.
