For more than 25 years, WSG has challenged, supported, and inspired Black and Brown girls from Wards 7 and 8, where many young people still face barriers to accessing quality education. It designs and delivers a culturally responsive learning environment in which students regularly engage with adults who look like them while experiencing a variety of worldviews beyond their community. Its holistic and personal approach includes a year-round academic program, small class sizes, after-school tutoring, high-quality enrichment activities, and extra support and counseling for students who are struggling personally, financially, or academically. The Graduate Support Program guides students as they transition to high school and beyond, maintaining a 99% high school graduation rate among WSG alumnae. The only tuition-free, independent, private Catholic school for elementary and middle school girls in DC, WSG has transformed the lives of over 300 young women.
