MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet

Called challenging, attractive, and adventuresome by The Washington Post, MOVEIUS is known for its cross-disciplinary and adventurous collaborations. GLACIER intersects ballet and science in a striking new production, conceived for INTERSECTIONS, that challenges how science is traditionally communicated, while simultaneously redefining ballet. With physical movement inspired by how ice melts, dancers and malleable set pieces, complemented by mixed media and photographs, will probe one of the most important concerns of our times: climate change.

The New Adventures of the Three Musketeers

In 17th-century France, a poor young nobleman named D’Artagnan leaves home to join the famous Musketeers of the Guard defenders of the King and masters of the rapier! On his journey, D’Artagnan befriends three famous Musketeers: Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. As the foursome roams the countryside, they encounter a dastardly plot to kidnap the King’s favorite dog and realize they’ll need the help of three swashbuckling ladies to save the day. This new Encore twist on the classic Alexandre Dumas adventure is recommended for children ages 6 and older.

The Springs Apartments Groundbreaking Celebration

Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing
Join the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) in celebrating the start of construction of The Springs Apartments, our 104-unit mixed use development that will add 98 new affordable units to the Ballston area in North Arlington and open in fall 2016. This free groundbreaking event will bring together Arlington County elected leadership and staff, neighbors and affordable housing supporters. It will include remarks from County leadership, the neighboring community and our partners. Light lunch is included.

New Futures’ Annual March Madness Happy Hour

New Futures
WHAT? Meet new people, see old friends, and sign up for the March Madness bracket! Prizes are still being collected, but we know for sure there will be gift certificates for The Big Board on the table to be won! There is no entry fee to participate, but we would happily accept a $20 donation per bracket. WHY? New Futures creates educational opportunities for rewarding careers for DC-area youth. We provide a practical yet innovative program of scholarships, career education services and support to low-income DC-area young people pursuing shorter-term post-secondary educational opportunities toward fulfilling careers.
