Keegan produces world-class, award-winning theater and supports every artist in reaching their full creative potential. Its pipeline for developing artists begins in school, where its PLAY-RAH-KA (revelry or merrymaking in Gaelic) programming immerses 2,000 public school students and their families in hands-on storytelling experiences annually. A new workshop-to-stage program enhances these curriculum-based theater workshops by inviting some 500 students to influence Keegan’s new productions. Emerging and underrepresented playwrights participate in The Boiler Room Series, where they work with Keegan to incubate new works from staged readings to full production premieres. As a community-based theater, Keegan ensures that all audiences can access its full season of musicals and plays through free and affordable tickets. Audience members build relationships with artists at pre-show events, happy hours, and artist talkbacks, creating connections that flourish beyond the theater.
