Since 2002, Creative Cauldron has provided innovative, inclusive, affordable arts education to the Greater Washington community, annually offering 200+ performances, of which 60% involve casts of young people. Teaching artists, directors, designers, and performers strengthen students’ artistic and technical skills. Through the Artes Para Todos initiative, English learners and Spanish-speaking students in under-resourced schools engage in after-school arts workshops and spring break and summer camps at free or reduced tuition. Musical Theater offers pre-professional voice and dance training for middle and high schoolers who perform alongside professionals. Youth in the Learning Theater Ensemble team up with experienced actors and directors, receiving intensive mentoring throughout an extended performance run. From studio classes for young children to family-friendly productions, off-site programs at local schools to outings for limited-income seniors and intellectually disabled citizens, Creative Cauldron welcomes some 15,000 people into their collaborative community each year.
