Gandhi said that if we want peace, we have to begin with the children, and LFFP does just that in its after-school Peace Clubs and summertime Peace Camps. Since children's lives are shaped by the adults around them, programs also address parents and other adults - reaching 2,500+ at more than 22 local sites. In year-round Training and Peace Circles, and in collaboration with nonprofits serving recent immigrants, citizens returning from prison, homeless men and women, and others, people of all ages experience, learn, and practice affirmation, communication, conflict resolution, healthy decision-making, self-care, restorative justice, and environmental stewardship – lifelong assets that bring us closer to a culture of peace. Imagine this: a world where relationships are based on respect, conflicts end in reconciliation, and everyone is safe, cared for, and reaching their potential. This is the “beloved community” toward which LFFP works every day.
