General Information

  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: Red Wiggler Care Farm is seeking field volunteers!
Do you like getting your hands in the soil, learning about different plants and bugs, and getting to know new people? If so, join us at Red Wiggler, a 501(c)3 certified organic Care farm that employs individuals with developmental disabilities to provide nourishing food for the community.

Our field volunteers assist with every aspect of keeping our farm running, including:
    - transplanting
    - harvesting for our CSA and for donation (we grow organic veggies, flowers, and herbs)
    - weeding
    - watering
    - pest management
    and more!

As a volunteer you have an opportunity to be a partner to a Grower (neurodivergent staff member), learn about sustainable and organic farming methods, and join our inclusive community.

Most volunteer opportunities are Monday through Friday, from 9 am - 12 pm or 1 pm - 3 pm, March - November. We accept new volunteers throughout the entire growing season, and there is no commitment required. Some volunteers come weekly throughout the growing season, others come only a few times as their schedules allow.
  • Types of Volunteers Needed: individual/adult; individual/college; individual/high school; families with children; adult groups of less than 5; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams
  • Hours Needed: business hours during the week
