General Information

  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: Communities in Schools of the Nation's Capital utilizes the time and talents of volunteers in a variety of ways. Throughout the school year, there are opportunities to volunteer for special events throughout the school year, or more consistently in a capacity such as tutoring. We also use volunteers to work in administrative functions that support the organizations efforts to serve 3,300 students and families in Wards 1, 6 and 8.
  • Types of Volunteers Needed: individual/adult; adult groups of less than 5; individual/high school; families with children; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams
  • Hours Needed: business hours during the week; evenings during the week; daytime on the weekend
