Earth Day Cleanup & Celebration!   Volunteer Opportunity    

Each year, the Anacostia Watershed Society hosts thousands of volunteers at more than 20 sites throughout the watershed for the largest annual Anacostia River cleanup! After the volunteer event, a celebration with free food and drink and live performances is hosted.   more event info >

Description of Volunteer Opportunities/Responsibilities:
We offer many different volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Activities include trash cleanups, invasive plant removals, native plant and tree plantings, wetland restoration events, and trash trap cleanups. We have regularly scheduled community events on weekdays and weekends, but are also happy to schedule private events for interested groups.

Types of Volunteers Needed: Adults; Teens (13 and up); Youth (12 and under); Families; Groups of more than 25 volunteers; Corporate volunteer groups

Hours Needed: Weekday Day; Weekend Day
