Chess- The Musical

The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts

The Theatre Lab's Creating a Musical Role class presents Chess. A contemporary classic from Tim Rice (Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar) and members of the famed pop group Abba, Chess is a thrilling rock opera telling the story of a Cold War-era chess tournament between two grandmasters—an American and a Soviet—and their fight over the woman who manages the career of one and falls in love with the other. Theatre Lab Co-Executive Director Deb Gottesman directs, with musical direction by Buzz Mauro.
